A Spike episode that didn't make me rip my hair out... What a backward world we live in. A world where up is down and boy bands play instruments.
Check below the break for my somewhat biased thoughts. There will be a few spoilers.
How great was it? Seriously.
Please avoid saying spoilers in the comments.
The one episode I spoiled myself on during the big batch of leaks.
.....
.....ohohohohohohoooo!!!!!
This was an unexpected surprise. spike has wings HE HAS WING!!! NEW WINGS!!! YEEEHAW! Hi-ho-diggity! This gives new things to explore about Spike in future episodes. 😁😁
Pinkie was funny. Her comedic timing was spot-on, especially when she wanted to play “shout-out.”
And huh. The orange dragon finally has a useful role here. It was brief, but important.
YAY! PEEWEE! Man, he's gotten big!
Yeah, I can sympathize with Spike. Zits like those are a total pain.
Ugh, I hope stone scale isn't contagious... hope they have cream for that...
CHRIST SPIKE, WHAT DID YOU EAT!?
Wow, the one time Rarity gives him more attention...

Good thing I watched this leaked and wrote this rant in advance, I got Anime North to deal with today...
MOLT DOWN
LIFE POINTS: 8000
Aww, Spike and Rarity, much as I say Rarity is the worst of the Mane 6, I ship her and Spike.
-No damage (Though I still find Rarity annoying)
Grading Scale:
A (fantastic episode)
A- (an excellent episode with at least one flaw)
B+ (a great episode with a couple of flaws)
B (a good episode which still could have been better)
I can finally write my review for "Molt Down" today! And with this episode, M.A. Larson returned to wing another creature, this time under his super-secret pseudonym "Josh Haber", continuing his neverending mission of bringing anger and despair over this fandom with the power of Change!
I rewatched "Molt Down" today to finally do my afterthoughts on the episode, and I discovered an interesting connection to something we've seen in another episode. If you think back to "Princess Spike" in Season 5, you will (if you weren't busy complaining about another Spike episode) probably remember these:
